2007.03.26 : Akihabara, Ueno and Much More by Bike!
I'm falling hard people... Only my third day of aimless wanderings... It's SUCH a beautiful city and soooo clean too! I rented a United Colors of Benetton foldable bike and road my chubby little ass off today ... Surprisingly fast (single gear), it's the perfect kinda bike for this city - nippy 0 easy to navigate pedestrians, cars and other cyclists... They're pretty liberal here about where you cycle... Pavement, road, against traffic... It's all fair game! Just my kinda thing... And they're law abiding and patient - not much jay-walking gets done... If the lights red and there are no cars or cyclists coming, tough, they'll just wait it out... I have to admire that... It's only the greedy who want to rush, and when you get too many people like that, that's when all the accidents happen - and I'm talking about other cities now... The people here are generally very polite and aware of other people around them... The ones that aren't, are the elderly, who have a lot of respect in this country - the way it should be really!
